After my run completed my 5th day in a row of strength training since the new year. Feels pretty good. Would like to focus a little more on strength training this spring.
PM- 4 miles around OC pushing matthew. It was beautiful out, so I had to get a few more miles. Started out at 8 min and did a progressive run. Finished my at 7:02.

| MLK track workout with a good group. 2 man 10 mi relay. Jason and I defended our title and finished 1st. Didn't time any of my splits but each lap was around 80-87 sec. For not running a ton lately I still felt pretty quick. Seems to me that my strength training has been pretty beneficial when its come to my fast twitch muscles.

| AM- got up this morning with Kara around 5 to go to an early class. It was quick but a good test to where i'm at. A lot of mobility and stretching in the beginning and then 3 METCONs

| Everyone has been sick and finally Jake got it. So on top of the cold weather and everyone vegging on the couch it was a little difficult to get out the door to do a long run. Had intentions but instead did a gym session in the morning and then about 7 on the tred in the evening. Really sick of the treadmill and hoping that sometime soon it will heat up. It's so hard for me to even get my miles past 40 i feel like. Ready for spring time and being able to take matthew and the dog out in the afternoon for some longer runs. I'm just not going to stress too much about how many miles i'm getting in right now. As long as I get my 3 minimum everyday i'll be happy with that.
Started getting some 2 a day lifting session this week. Since I'm lifting at 530 am with my schedule I have a little bit of a break in between clients so i'm able to get about another 45 min metcon/skill building workout. Hoping that will help make up for a the lack of miles but we'll see!

| After a week of slowly getting my miles back trying to rehab my knee after stupidly going out for 20 after a month hiatus I was able to make it to 8. Still the last 2-3 miles were painful and my knee was tight. Hopefully I can take this month to get back some miles. |

| Did a workout on the track tonight. 1.5 warm up 4x 800 m @ 6-6:20 pace 100 m float in between 4x300 m @ 530 pace 400 m rest in between 800 m cool down. Really wish my knee wasn't bugging me. Wanted to push some speed work tonight, worried I might have to take some time out to completely rehab it. |

| Hard to even count 3 as a run. Woke up late, lazy morning, and then in the afternoon had planned for both of us to do long runs but I got Matthew and then it started to drizzle a little more than I had thought. Leaving for Nashville in a few days so I just plan in trying to average about 10 a day and then get a long run at the parents when I have multiple babysitters. Weather should be nice and try to get a good 18-20 miler. Going to try to ramp up after San Antonio. Finally in shape to do 8-10 and feel like it's regular easy run. Would like to around January get my milage up to 80. Never done it before and going to shoot for the Austin marathon in February or another quicker marathon around that time. It's about time to get in some serious training mode! |
