Around 10 I finally decided to get the day going and go out for my run. My legs felt so good so I told myself I was going to do 20. It wasn't terribly hot out so I thought I'd' be fine. I did 10 on my own and the decided to swing by the house and jake and Jason were going to finish it with me.

Around 12 miles my body started to feel drained. It really surprised me because it was only 12 miles. I really wanted to do 20, but my body was telling me otherwise. So I kept going. Right around 14 I reall started to bonk. I felt likei had NOTHING in me. So smiles 14-16 were really rough and I finished up at 18.5 and decided to call it a day. I averaged 8:30 so I didn't feel too bad about it.

For the month of September I'm really staying away from sweets and processed foods. I think last night I just didn't consume enough calories and I'm still nursing. So from now on I'm going to take Uchann the night before or morning of longer runs.

Am- 4.5 easy morning run

PM- 4.5 TRACK workout. Well more like a little shakeout.

Did some drills and jogged around for a little then jumped in with Roger for 3x800 around 6 min pace. Felt tired on the first one and then on the last I felt like my lgs started to pick up. Jogged around for a few laps an then did float/fly 6x200s

AM- around 7ish this morning most with jake and a few on my own. Legs felt pretty good even though my body was tired.

PM- 5 miles tonight around OC. About 4 miles were sub 7:30 which is starting to feel pretty easy now. Happy about it. I feel like I'm starting to get in better shape. I just need to stay healthy and work on cutting down to race weight.

Didn't run till tonight. Ran with Bailey around OC and finished up the last bit on the tred. bailey wanted to do a 4 mile tempo at under 8. I'm feeling really good about my pace for recovery runs. My heart rate is lower an my pace has been dropping and it's making me really excited.

Need to ice my legs even though is late and then get up early to to do a few miles.

Hopped into a 5k this morning and was very surprised with how strong I felt. Warmed up a few miles and then during the race this was the 2nd time I forgot to bring my watch but I think it's good luck because I got a new PR. It was said that the course ended up being a little short but even if it was a tad short I think I still would have been under 19. I actualy felt like I was able to keep a strong pace in the beginning through the halfway point and on the way back I felt like I got stronger. 

Just need to pick the miles back up and be consistent with icing and rolling out my calves to keep my shins from any injuries. I can feel a little pain on my left shin on the same place where I've had multiple stress fractures. It makes me a little worried but as long as I can manage it and not let it get too out of control I'll be fine. During my lifting sessions I've tried to monitor the exercises I do that contain bounding or jumping, and now I only wear my lifting shoes when there is no movement involved.

Did 10 around Hefner in the evening with the family. It was fairly nice weather out, not terribly hot and it felt good. I've noticed on my recovery runs my pace is dropping and that feels good. It used to be so hard for me to drop below 8 min pace for a solid 10 miler and now my average is about 7:40s maybe at the slowest 7:50s. So training is definitely heading in the right direction. 

Need to try and get a solid tempo workout in soon.

Jake had the morning off and so we slept in and went to Mitch for 10 miles. Tried to take the hills at a stronger pace and it ended up being a good workout.

Did 7 this morning and my legs were a little dead. I think the two 10 milers back to back at a stronger pace and then the hill run yesterday did me in. Wanted to just take it easy and relax for my 20 miler tomorrow. 

PM- Did a workout in the evening.

  • 10kb swing(35lb)
  • 10sit ups
  • 10 lunges
  • 400 m sprint

DId 20 with Kelsey around Hefner around 3 pm. I had baby duties in the morning while Jake did his run so I had to take the afternoon to run. Felt pretty good. Our overall pace was 8:14 and my cardio felt really strong. However, my legs and joints were what hurt the most. But overall i'm very pleased with where I'm at and a little over 2 months left to train.

Ran on the river this afternoon. Just did an out and back and it was quite pleasant. Wanted to go really easy and let my body recover for the week. Legs felt really good after. Really have to refocus and stay consistent with my diet. Still have a little bit more I want to lose and I know the only way its going to happen is by cutting my portions and eating really clean. 

Hoping to hit the same mileage this week, goal is 75. I gotta remember to ice after every run and be religious about rolling out my calves!
